Recovering after Facelift
in my practice is usually five to seven days to return to most
activities. There is usually some residual bruising that can
easily be covered with makeup at this point.
Face-lifting is done on an
outpatient basis in most cases allowing the patient to return home a
few hours after the procedure. I discourage bed rest after this
procedure as with most of my cosmetic surgery procedures.
Patients tend to heal more quickly and feel better if they are up and
about. Naturally, this does not mean returning to work and
strenuous activity the day of your surgery.
While you will have some
visible bruising, pain is minimal. You feel almost nothing immediately
after the procedure because extensive local anesthesia is used.
Regular medication over just a few days makes the whole experience
much more comfortable than most people expect. The discoloration
can usually be covered with makeup by about the 5th to 7th day,
allowing many to return to most usual activities. |
